severe and enduring mental illness to optimise vocational and employment opportunities

We have an active and vibrant weekly teaching programme based in Waterford which incorporates both case conferences and journal clubs in addition to regular exam focussed teaching sessions. Protected time is made available to all trainees to attend. There is a regular Balint group led by the tutor. Psychotherapy training is provided.

Trainees are encouraged to participate in audit and research with opportunities given to present these at the teaching programme.  Support if also provided to present research as posters or oral presentations at national psychiatric meetings.
